Update on Drew Galloway’s Current Health & Possible Status For NXT Takeover: New Orleans

It looks like former NXT Champion Drew Galloway is inching his way closer towards an in-ring return, following an injury suffered in a match with Andrade Cien Almas at NXT Takeover: WarGames back in November.

The original timetable for Galloway’s return was 5-6 months, which of course put his involvement in the annual WrestleMania weekend festivities in serious jeopardy. PWInsider.com is reporting that the 32-year-old WWE Superstar was seen working out at the Performance Center this week, and was even able to get back into the ring. That’s obviously great news, but whether or not he’ll be ready for NXT Takeover: New Orleans on April 7th still remains to be seen.

It’s potentially worth noting that Galloway did not appear at this Wednesday’s NXT television tapings, which will be the final set of shows leading up to next month’s big special. That doesn’t mean they can’t put him on the card at the last minute, but he definitely won’t be involved in any major storylines at the show. The most likely scenario right now is that Galloway will appear at Takeover in a non-wrestling role, likely to set up an angle where he was never given his contractual rematch for the NXT Championship.
