WWE has released the above video, featuring WWE Smackdown Live star Zelina Vega opening up about how the terrorist attacks of 9/11 changed her life.
Vega, real name Thea Trinidad, lost her father, Michael Angel Trinidad, on September 11th, 2001, as he was in one of the World Trade Center buildings in New York City when it was attacked.
During the above video, Vega talks about her father contacting her mother on the morning of 9/11 to inform her that he would not be able to get out of the attacked building, and he wanted Trinidad’s mother to tell the rest of his family how much he loved them.
Vega also talked about how her father spoke with her stepfather on the phone, and told him to be a father to his children, which Vega says he did, and that having her stepfather had become a blessing in the wake of her father’s death.
Also during the video, Trinidad talks about how the passing of her father helped inspire her and her career, how The Rock was her father’s favorite wrestler, and how her memories of WWE and her father helped her become the superstar that she is today.
You can hear more from the interview in the above video.
