Daniel Bryan Gets Mainstream Media Coverage

The announcement of Daniel Bryan being medically cleared by WWE to return to the ring was not only a huge story in the pro wrestling world, but it also received a sizable amount of mainstream coverage from outlets such as ESPN, CBS Sports and The Los Angeles Times. Below is an excerpt from ESPN’s coverage of the breaking news story:

WWE announced in a news release Tuesday that after more than two years of extensive evaluations, Bryan was cleared by three leading concussion experts: Dr. Robert Cantu, the co-founder of the CTE Center at Boston University School of Medicine; Dr. Javier Cardenas, the director of the Barrow Concussion and Brain Injury Center; and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher, the national director of The Sports Neurology Clinic.

Finally, WWE’s medical director, Dr. Joseph Maroon, cleared Bryan as well.

One Top WWE Star Not Happy with Bryan News

While everyone in the pro wrestling world celebrated the news that Bryan has been cleared to return to in-ring action, and will likely be competing at WrestleMania 34, one man who was not thrilled with the news was WWE IC Champion The Miz. Bryan and The Miz have had their fair share of onscreen differences in WWE, and Miz Tweeted the following:
