The midfielder played 68 times in Ligue 2 and joins Montpellier with an option to buy once his loan has come to an end.

Club president Laurent Nicollin has revealed the Frenchman was not a target, but they could not miss out on the chance to sign him, telling the club website: “We had not planned to recruit but it was the opportunity to bring in a young player of quality to complete the workforce.”

The 20-year-old, who will wear the number six at his new club revealed his delight at joining La Paillade, saying: “I am very happy to join Montpellier and I hope we will win a lot of games together.”
