Hiroshi Tanahashi Signs New NJPW Contract Ahead Of Wrestle Kingdom 13

Hiroshi Tanahashi shall remain The Ace Of New Japan Pro-Wrestling for at least another year. The 2018 G1 Climax winner took to Twitter to share the news that he’d signed a new contract with NJPW for 2019. This signing comes ahead of his upcoming IWGP Heavyweight Title match against Kenny Omega. Omega, the reigning champion, has been extremely coy about his future with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and the rumored All Elite Wrestling, making Tanahashi’s new contract more fuel to the fire. Tanahashi and Omega will battle for the title on Jan. 4th at Wrestle Kingdom 13.

Tanahashi didn’t give many details about his new contract, simply stating he “will do [his]best” in the coming year.

Contract renewal with New Japan Wrestling. I will do my best next fiscal year too! # njpw
