9/3/19 WWE 205 Live Recap

The show opens with Drake Maverick telling Humberto Carrillo and Lince Dorado that they will go one-on-one in tonight’s main event. Dorado says he has been around since the beginning of 205 Live and he has never had a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Carrillo says he earned his title shot fair and square last week. Maverick says he did, but if Dorado wins tonight he will be added to the title match at Clash of Champions.
The opening credits roll. Aiden English, Nigel McGuinness, and Vic Joseph are on commentary.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Mike Kanellis vs. Tony Nese
They lock up and Nese goes behind for a waist-lock. Nese drops Kanellis to the mat, but Kanellis gets to the ropes. Kanellis kicks Nese in the midsection and clubs him across the back. Kanellis chops Nese in the corner, but Nese answers back. Kanellis delivers a headbutt, but Nese comes back with a back elbow. Nese kicks Kanellis in the midsection and trips him up. Nese goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out. They go to the floor and Nese drops Kanellis to the floor with a left hand. Kanellis backs Nese into the barricade and then drops him onto the entrance ramp with a DDT. Nese gets back into the ring at the nine count, but Kanellis slams him to the mat. Kanellis goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Kanellis applies a rear chin-lock, but Nese fights back. Nese trips Kanellis up and goes for the springboard moonsault, but Kanellis dodges and sends Nese to the floor. Kanellis slams Nese into the barricade and then delivers a kick to the face from the apron while Nese was draped over the barricade.
Kanellis tosses Nese back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Kanellis applies a headlock, but Nese backs him into the corner. Kanellis clubs Nese in the back and slams him into the corner. Kanellis picks Nese up, but Nese counters and sends Kanellis to the corner with a German suplex. Nese dodges shots from Kanellis and delivers a knee strike. Nese drops Kanellis with a spinning heel kick and then delivers an elbow in the corner. Kanellis sends Nese to the apron, but Nese catches him with a forearm. Nese connects with the springboard moonsault and goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out at two. Kanellis clubs Nese in the back, but Nese rolls him up for two. Nese gets another roll-up for two, but Kanellis comes right back with a spine-buster. Kanellis goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Kanellis delivers a forearm in the corner and puts Nese up top. Nese fights back, but Kanellis kicks him in the face. Nese comes back with an uppercut and goes up top.
Nese takes Kanellis down with a hurricanrana and goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out at two. Nese picks Kanellis up, but Kanellis drops him with a clothesline. They exchange shots on the mat and Kanellis kicks Nese in the face. Nese fires back with a left and runs the ropes, but Kanellis kicks him in the face again. Kanellis runs the ropes, but Nese catches him with an elbow. Nese trips Kanellis on the apron and then takes him out with a suicide dive. Nese tosses Kanellis back into the ring and goes up top. Nese hits the 450 splash and goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out at two. Nese goes for the Running Nese, but Kanellis blocks it. Nese goes for the Sunset Driver, but Kanellis rolls through. Nese kicks Kanellis in the face and runs the ropes, but Kanellis meets him with a superkick. Kanellis delivers a face-buster and gets the pin fall.

Lince Dorado is warming up backstage when Ariya Daivari walks up. Daivari wishes him good luck and wants a thank you from Dorado for taking out Gran Metalik and Kalisto. Daivari says without him, Dorado wouldn’t have confronted Humberto Carrillo and gotten his opportunity tonight. Dorado says Daivari doesn’t care about him and is nothing but a leech. Dorado says he is going to beat Carrillo and then go to Clash of Champions and win the Cruiserweight title. He says he is going to apologize to Metalik and Kalisto for letting Daivari come between them.

The Singh Brothers say they are one week into their studies and are making significant strides. They say things went wrong when The Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa got involved in their business. They say when they figure out what is wrong, they will reintroduce Kendrick and Tozawa to the lights, camera, and Bollywood action.

Match #2 – Tag Team Match: Akira Tozawa and The Brian Kendrick vs. Brandon Scott and Tyler Hastings
Kendrick and Scott start the match and Kendrick delivers a few shots. Kendrick applies a headlock, but Scott fights back. Tozawa tags in and kicks Scott in the face and he and Kendrick double team Scott. Tozawa chops Scott a few times and then catches him with a right hand. Kendrick tags back in and he and Tozawa double team Scott again. Kendrick kicks Scott in the chest and Hastings tags in. Kendrick drops Hastings and applies a headlock. Hastings backs Kendrick into the ropes, but Kendrick catches him with a forearm. Scott gets a cheap shot on Kendrick and tags in. Tozawa tags in as well and takes out Scott and Hastings with a double dropkick. Tozawa kicks Scott in the midsection and then delivers an enzuigiri. Kendrick tags in and Tozawa delivers a forearm in the corner. Tozawa and Kendrick slam Scott to the mat and Kendrick gets the pin fall.
Winners: The Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa
-After the match, Kendrick says it’s another week and another Jack Gallagher no-show. Kendrick says he has talked to Drake Maverick and next week, it will be he and Tozawa vs. Gallagher and a partner of his choice.

Oney Lorcan is backstage for an interview. He is interrupted by Tony Nese. He tries to calm Nese down, but Nese attacks him. Nese slams Lorcan into the wall and then into a crate before referees pull him back.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Humberto Carrillo vs. Lince Dorado – if Dorado wins, he gets added to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match at Clash of Champions
They shake hands to start the match and then lock up. Dorado applies a waist-lock, but Carrillo turns it into a hammer-lock. Dorado gets free and drops Carrillo to the mat. Carrillo comes back and trips Dorado up and goes for an inverted surfboard submission. Dorado flips free and goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out. They lock up and Carrillo drops Dorado to the mat. Dorado comes back with an arm-drag take down, but Carrillo rolls him up for a one count. Dorado goes for a few covers, but Carrillo bridges out. Dorado goes for a hurricanrana, but Carrillo lands on his feet and they stand at a stalemate. They get face-to-face and exchange slaps across the chest. Carrillo drops Dorado with an arm-drag and then slaps him again. Carrillo connects with another arm-drag and then a hurricanrana. Carrillo puts Dorado on the apron and charges, but Dorado dodges and drops Carrillo with a DDT on the floor. Dorado tosses Carrillo back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two.
Dorado kicks Carrillo and few times and connects with a standing moonsault. Dorado goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Dorado applies a headlock and then drops Carrillo with a spinning heel kick. Dorado goes up top and connects with a splash. Dorado goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Dorado applies a rear chin-lock, but Carrillo gets free. Dorado kicks Carrillo in the face and puts him up top. Dorado chops Carrillo and climbs up top. Dorado goes for a suplex, but Carrillo blocks and shoves Dorado down. Carrillo kicks him in the face and then delivers a missile dropkick. Carrillo clotheslines Dorado in he corner and delivers another dropkick. Carrillo connects with a standing moonsault and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two. Carrillo delivers a springboard Spanish fly and then takes Dorado out with a suicide dive on the floor. Carrillo tosses Dorado back into the ring and goes up top. Carrillo connects with a moonsault and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two.
Carrillo goes for a suplex, but Dorado rolls through. Dorado kicks Carrillo in the midsection and the head and then goes for the Golden Rewind. Carrillo catches him, but Dorado drops Carrillo with an inverted rana. Dorado goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Dorado delivers a few forearm shots and a few chops, but Carrillo comes back with a power bomb. Carrillo goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two. They exchange shots, chops, and kicks and then Carrillo kicks Dorado in the face. Carrillo connects with an enzuigiri, but Dorado comes back with a gut-buster. Dorado goes up top and hits the Shooting Star Press. Carrillo rolls to the floor, but Dorado tosses him back into the ring. Carrillo catches Dorado with a roll-up for two, but Dorado drops him with a hurricanrana and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Lince Dorado
-After the match, Drew Gulak attacks Dorado on the ramp. He clubs Dorado in the back and then Tony Nese runs out and takes out Carrillo. Nese and Gulak nod to each other and toss Dorado and Carrillo into the ring. Gulak and Nese beat down Dorado and Carrillo and then Nese delivers the Running Nese into Dorado. Gulak drops Carrillo with the Cyclone Crash and raises the Cruiserweight title in the air as he and Nese stand tall in the ring.Click Here:
