WWE SummerSlam Results (8/23/2015): Brooklyn, New York

Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens

After the last match, we head right back to the ring, as Cesaro’s theme music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Michael Cole points out the Cesaro Section in the crowd. The announcers plug Cesaro having a match with the two male WWE Tough Enough finalists on the season finale episode on Tuesday.

Kevin Owens’ music hits and the fans explode inside the Barclays Center for the man who came up short last night against Finn Balor at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Highlights are shown of some of the punishment Owens took last night in his ladder match main event loss to Balor.

The bell sounds and these two fan favorites immediately go after each other. Cesaro gets Owens down for the Cesaro Swing early on, but Owens ends up fighting his way out. Owens knocks Cesaro out to the floor and hits a big somersault dive over the ropes, crashing onto Cesaro on the floor. The fans erupt and start chanting for Owens.

“You watching this Cole? Pay attention!” shouts Owens, as he turns around right into a flying Swiss Superman coming through the ropes and splashing onto him. Cole laughs and yells that Owens should have watched out.

The action resumes back inside the ring with Cesaro firmly in control at this point. Owens runs out of the ring and tries to get a breather but Cesaro comes running after him. Owens side-steps Cesaro so Cesaro crashes into the barricade. Owens hits a running cannonball on Cesaro against the barricade.

Owens has Cesaro where he wants him now and is taking it to him. The fans start chanting “Ole! Ole! Ole!” and Cesaro starts fighting back, repeatedly bitch-slapping the hell out of Owens. Cesaro demonstrates his freak strength again by manhandling Owens for a unique slam.

The fans start chanting “He’s on fire! He’s on fire!” Owens plays to the fans and Cesaro catches him distracted with a big European uppercut. Cesaro gets Owens on the top rope and hits a crazy gut wrench suplex from the top rope for a close near fall.

The action spills out to the floor where Cesaro hits a wicked running uppercut that launches Owens. Back in the ring, Cesaro gets Owens in the Cesaro Swing and he swings Owens’ big ass around for ten full spins. He immediately puts him in the Sharpshooter. Owens makes it to the ropes forcing a break to the hold. Owens hits a Pop Up Powerbomb moments later. 1-2-3. Owens wins.

Winner: Kevin Owens

The Rematch Too Big For WrestleMania
– Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker

The elaborate video package for tonight’s main event, “The Rematch Too Big For WrestleMania” between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, airs. It features comments from the entire roster talking about the end of the streak and this intense feud between Lesnar and The Dead Man.

Back inside the Barclays Center live, Brock Lesnar’s music hits. “The Beast Incarnate” himself, along with his advocate Paul Heyman, make their way to the ring. Lilian Garcia introduces him and he leaps on the ring and the pyro explodes.

Lesnar’s music fades off, the crowd mummers and then finally, the gong hits and the lights go out. The fans go quiet briefly and then they roar a bit as the gong hits again. The Undertaker’s music hits as the smoke starts pouring out of the entrance way. The Undertaker slowly makes his way out and down to the ring.

As Taker approaches the ring, Lesnar doesn’t even wait for Taker to finish his entrance before he bum-rushes him and attacks him. Michael Cole reminds us that the last time Lesnar saw Taker, it was Taker low-blowing Lesnar. Taker ends up fighting back and knocking Lesnar out of the ring. The fans explode. Taker takes his big jacket off. Lesnar gets back in the ring and the bell finally sounds to make this one official.

As soon as the bell rings, Lesnar charges Taker and like lightning, shoots a double leg and takes Taker down. Taker connects with Lesnar’s nose and jaw and Cole is talking like Lesnar is stunned. Lesnar is wabbling around the ring as Taker blasts him with big shots. The fans do dueling chants of “Under-Taker!” and “Suplex City!”

Taker tries to hit his Old School spot but Lesnar yanks him down right into an F-5. Taker breaks free before Lesnar hits the actual F-5. Taker grabs Lesnar by the throat for a chokeslam but Lesnar breaks free and suplexes Taker. The announcers and Heyman off mic in the background both remind everyone that Lesnar is taking Taker to suplex city. Taker gets up and Lesnar hits him with a German suplex. Lesnar yells out “Suplex City Bitch!” and the fans in the Barclays Center explode with cheers.

Lesnar continues to take Taker to Suplex City over and over and over again. Finally, the action spills out to the floor. Lesnar hoists Taker up and blasts him with an F-5 through the announce table. The fans explode in the Barclays Center. As the initial pop dies down the fans erupt in “This Is Awesome! This Is Awesome!” chants.

Taker, refusing to quit, rolls in as the referee nears the count of ten. “I’ll kill you, you son of a bitch,” hears Taker from a welcoming Brock Lesnar. “I’ll kill you. I’ll kill you.” Lesnar picks Taker up and Taker says, “You’re gonna have to.” Taker grabs Lesnar out of nowhere and blasts him with a huge chokeslam.

Lesnar, now the one stunned, turns around into a Tombstone Piledriver from The Undertaker. Undertaker sits up and crosses Lesnar’s arms. 1-2…. Lesnar manages to get his shoulder up at 2 1/2.

Lesnar, now busted open and bleeding, sits up and laughs. Taker sits up like The Dead Man. Both guys are sitting next to each other. As a smiling Lesnar turns his head, he sees Taker sit up quick. Lesnar face drops as Taker starts firing away with punches from his ass. Lesnar fights back from his ass as well. The two fight to their feet and now Lesnar has Taker locked in a Kimura in the corner. Lesnar is squeezing the Kimura on Taker’s arm in the corner. Taker finally scoops underneath Lesnar and hits him with Last Ride. He covers him. 1-2 …Lesnar again kicks out at two.

Both guys slowly make it back to their feet. Lesnar kicks Taker in the gut, scoops him up and hits him with another F-5. He covers him, 1-2….Taker now kicks out at 2 1/2. Lesnar looks angry now, covered in blood. He sits up and looks off in the distance with a mean look in his eyes.

The fans start doing dueling “Under-Taker” and “Suplex City!” chants now as Lesnar waits for Taker to get back to his feet. Taker does and turns around into a third F-5 from Lesnar. Lesnar hits it. 1-2 …Taker again kicks out at 2 1/2 after a third F-5. Lesnar has a look of disbelief on his face now.

“This Is Awesome!” chants spread throughout the Barclays Center as Taker starts badly coughing. Lesnar gets stuck though, as Taker locks him into Hell’s Gate. Lesnar holds his hand up, showing he’s still in the fight. The ref gets in position to watch the submission. Taker squeezes away as Heyman yells from the floor. Lesnar shakes his way out of the hold and locks Taker in a Kimura. Lesnar is trying to break the arm of The Undertaker now as he sinches up the Kimura tighter and tighter. Taker screams in pain as Lesnar cranks on the hold some more. The fans clap and stomp their feet to try and rally behind Taker.

The referee jumps down to cover him. The ref only hits the count of one. Heyman immediately jumps in the ring and screams about how he can’t believe Taker tapped out. He thinks Taker tapped out to the Kimura. The ref is yelling at the guy with the bell as Taker nails Lesnar and puts him back in the Hell’s Gate submission hold. Taker squeezes away and yells “Tap Out!” to a fading Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, still in the hold, flips off Taker with the middle finger. The fans erupt with cheers. Just as he flips him off, however, Lesnar fades and passes out. The referee calls for the bell. Taker wins.

Winner via Submission: The Undertaker

After The Match: Controversy!

After the match, via instant replay, we see what the confusion was with the false-finish right before the real finish. Video replays show Undertaker tapping out while in the Kimura, which is why the bell keeper rang the bell and why Heyman was screaming he can’t believe Undertaker tapped out. A pissed off Heyman runs over and grabs the hammer and bell and starts ringing it like crazy.

Heyman gets on the mic and yells “No! No! No! No!” the fans in the Barclays Center yell back “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!” in response. Heyman says everyone saw what really happened. He says ladies and gentlemen, your winner by tap out submission, The Beast, The Conquerer, Brock Lesnar. Lesnar smiles while covered in blood. His music plays and Heyman and Lesnar stand in the ring as SummerSlam 2015 comes to an end.
