Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
Dolph Ziggler comes out accompanied by Lana. The fans in Brooklyn give him a great reception coming out. Out next is his opponent this evening, “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, who comes to the ring accompanied by Summer Rae.
The bell sounds and here we go with our third match at this year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Ziggler uses his speed and quickness early on to get in some offense on the larger man, however it isn’t long before Rusev uses his size and strength to smother and weaken “The Show Off.”
Rusev goes for a press slam but Ziggler turns it into a DDT out of nowhere. Lana, who looks absolutely delicious tonight, is shown looking on as both Ziggler and Rusev struggle to get back to their feet.
Ziggler catches Rusev on the top rope and jumps off, face-planting Rusev from the top rope to the mat in the process. Rusev gets back up and manhandles Ziggler, suplexing him down and then running off the ropes and hitting a running somersault onto Ziggler with all of his weight.
Dolph catches Rusev in a sleeper hold. Rusev struggles but eventually makes it to the ropes. The ref calls for a break, but instead, Ziggler yanks Rusev to the middle of the ring and squeezes harder. Rusev fights out but Ziggler hits him with a FameAsser for a close near fall.
Rusev yells “Rusev Crush!” and then applies The Accolade on Ziggler. Lana screams out on the floor as Ziggler suffers. Summer Rae runs over but Lana knocks Summer on her ass. Rusev lets go to yell at Lana so Ziggler rolls out to the floor. The fans chant “Lana! Lana!” so Rusev loses his cool and brings Ziggler over to Lana. While distracted, Summer takes out Lana from behind.
Ziggler breaks free and super kicks Rusev out of nowhere, launching him onto the announce table. Meanwhile the referee counts to ten. It’s a double countout. Ziggler tried to roll in the ring at nine but didn’t make it.
Lilian Garcia announces a double count out, but neither Ziggler nor Rusev are satisfied. They brawl outside the ring and the action returns to the ring. Ziggler gets Rusev down. Summer like a freak attacks Ziggler. Lana attacks Summer. Dolph and Rusev separate the ladies. Rusev and Summer get out of there and retreat.
Winner: Double Count Out
King Barrett & Stardust vs. Neville & Stephen Amell
The video package airs telling the story of Stephen Amell and Neville versus Stardust and King Barrett. That special tag-team contest is up next.
After the video package, King Barrett comes out first. Out next is his tag-team partner for tonight, Stardust. After them, first out is Neville, “The Man That Gravity Forgot.” Out after him is his special tag-team partner tonight, actor Stephen Amell, who comes out dressed up in partial Green Arrow gear.
Not sure how it sounds in the building, but on television, the audience is flat for Amell. He takes his special gear off and is now just in a pair of shorts and knee pads with boots. Neville kicks things off with Barrett as the bell sounds to kick off this special tag-team match.
Barrett dominates for a few seconds but Neville uses his speed and quickness and high-risk offensve to take the lead in the match. Barrett tags Stardust in. Stardust says he doesn’t want Neville, he wants Amell. The fans pop for that pretty good. Neville tags in Amell.
Amell leapfrogs into the ring bouncing off the ropes in the process. He got up pretty high, too. Stardust simply shoves Amell down on his ass. Stardust taunts him. Amell back-rolls to his feet and pushes Stardust down. He tells Stardust to bring it on.
The two lock up and Stardust cheap shots Amell down to the mat. Stardust toys with Amell a bit now but Amell gets back up and flies all over the place, hip-tossing a stunned Stardust down to the mat. Amell taunts Stardust, who is now starting to lose his cool as Amell is more than he bargained for.
Stardust has had enough of Amell, so he tags out. Barrett tags in and bull-rushes Amell into the corner. He pounds away at Amell in the corner and then picks him up. He goes to slam him but Amell breaks free. Barrett blasts Amell down to the mat.
Barrett establishes control over Amell and then tags in Stardust and lets Stardust have Amell down and out. Stardust goes to work on Amell a bit and then tags Barrett back in. The big man comes back in and immediately takes it to Amell, hammering with a wide variety of shots. He big boots him out to the floor. Starudst beats up Amell on the floor a bit.
King Barrett brings Amell back into the ring and tags in Stardust. Stardust comes in and picks up where Barrett left off. Stardust hits a front-suplex on Amell for a near fall.
Amell hits an enziguiri out of nowhere and now both guys are down. The fans are clapping as Neville revs up on the apron, looking for a tag. Barrett tags in and finally Amell makes the tag as well.
Neville takes the hot tag and is flying all over the place, taking out Barrett and Stardust over and over again. He starts blasting Barrett with big kicks and then he goes to the top rope. Stardust interferes. Stardust and Barrett are dumped to the floor. Amell hits a high cross body splash on both guys off the top rope. Neville hits a Red Arrow on Barrett in the ring. 1-2-3. We have our winners.
