WWE HELL IN A CELL 2012 Results (October 28, 2012)

WWE Hell In A Cell PPV Opener:

The WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view show opens with the typical over-the-top video package highlighting the main feuds heading into tonight’s show, particularly the CM Punk vs. Ryback main event.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton

Ricardo Rodriguez comes out after Michael Cole welcomes us to tonight’s PPV. Rodriguez introduces Alberto Del Rio. The singles match with Randy Orton will kick off tonight’s in-ring action. Orton begins clubbing away at Del Rio right away before taking him into the corner, then tossing him out of the ring. Orton follows outside and takes Del Rio out with a big clothesline before slamming Del Rio’s head into the announcer’s table. Orton slams Del Rio into the ring post before bringing things back into the ring where he stomps away at Del Rio.

Orton is tossed to the apron and distracted by Ricardo. Del Rio slams Orton’s arm down across the turnbuckle support. He beats up on Orton on the outside for a bit before taking things back into the ring and locking in a key lock hold. Orton fights up to his feet and pushes Del Rio into the corner, fighting his way out of the hold. Del Rio heads to the top but he’s stopped by Orton. Del Rio grabs Orton’s arm and hangs on to it, draping himself over the top rope. He breaks the hold and sends Orton shoulder first into the ring post before kicking at his back hard. Orton fights up to his feet and head butts his way out of the hold, but ends up whipped into the corner. Orton is able to roll up a charging Del Rio for two, but Del Rio comes right back with an arm bar take down, getting another near fall.

Del Rio wrenches away at Orton’s arm, rearing back with a chin lock as well. Orton fights out of it, but Del Rio clubs away at Orton’s arm. Del Rio heads back into the ring and eats a couple of clotheslines, but Del Rio is able to lock in the cross arm breaker to counter Orton’s powerslam. Orton gets to the ropes to break the hold. Orton connects with a backbreaker that’s good for a two count. Del Rio rolls out to the apron and Orton kicks at him, pulling him back into the ring. Del Rio counters, hanging Orton up on the top rope before kicking at his shoulder.

Del Rio drops to the mat and teases the RKO. He tries, but Orton pushes him off and out to the apron before bringing him back into the ring with the suspension DDT. Orton drops down to the mat and psychs himself up. He tries for the RKO, but Del Rio counters with a backstabber for another two count. Del Rio tries for a DDT, but Orton counters into a powerslam, pinning Del Rio for two. Orton beats on Del Rio in the corner, stomping away and head butting Alberto. Orton places Del Rio on the top turnbuckle and blasts him with a couple of right hands. Orton heads up after Del Rio, but Del Rio fights him off, tying Orton up in the ropes and coming down on top of him with a giant double stomp.

Del Rio heads to the top, but jumps off and does nothing. Orton pushes him away and hits a dropkick. Orton tries for the RKo, but Del Rio counters. He tries to toss Orton into the ring post, but Orton blocks it and elbows Del Rio. Ricardo pulls Orton’s arm into the ring post and Orton turns around into the cross arm breaker. Orton has his hands clasped, but Del Rio pulls them apart and applies the hold. Orton is able to counter with a pin but Del Rio kicks out at two. Del Rio tries his big kick coming out of the corner, but Orton avoids it and nails him with the RKO for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Randy Orton

Backstage: Vickie Guerrero & Paul Heyman

Vickie is backstage and she says she’s got photos of Cena and AJ’s affair, and she’ll prove it on Raw. She’s giving AJ a chance to defend herself tomorrow night. She’s interrupted by Paul Heyman who says that Punk shouldn’t be in a Hell in a Cell match. Vickie says Paul should admit that Punk is afraid of Ryback. Heyman screams and says Punk isn’t afraid of anyone. Heyman says AJ got what she deserved. He heard Vickie was doing a great job, she doesn’t want to mess it up.

WWE Tag-Team Titles: Team Hell No (c) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

The bell rings and it looks like Bryan and Sandow will kick things off. We get a lock up and Sandow backs Bryan into the corner. Bryan reverses things and kicks Sandow repeatedly. Bryan catches Sandow with a knee to the gut before tagging in Kane. Sandow rolls away and tags in Rhodes who Kane brings in the hard way, then kicks with a low dropkick. Kane brings Rhodes to his feet and hits him with a big right before kicking him in the corner. Kane clotheslines Rhodes before tagging in Bryan. Kane tosses Bryan into Rhodes in the corner and he hits him with a big dropkick. Bryan stomps Rhodes’ elbow before hitting him with a series of uppercuts and kicks. Kane tags into the match and takes Cody down to the mat with a big slam, then follows up with an elbow drop. He gets a two count. Kane picks Cody up, but Rhodes kicks Kane and gets in a couple of rights.

Sandow makes the blind tag and breaks up a chokeslam, taking Kane into the corner and stomping away at him. Rhodes tags back in and stomps away at Kane before tagging right back out. Sandow sends Kane out to the ring apron, tagging him with a couple of rights. Sandow locks in a head lock and tags Rhodes back in. Kane fights back against both men, but takes a dropkick to the knee from Cody. Sandow tags back in and Kane again tries to fight off both men. Sandow leaps off the middle rope into a big right hand. Bryan tags in and kicks away at Sandow in the corner. Bryan flips over Sandow and takes him out with a flying clothesline before kicking away at Sandow’s chest. Bryan is able to send Sandow out of the ring and he leaps through the ropes, taking out Sandow. Bryan sends things back into the ring, but he’s distracted by Rhodes and sent back to the outside by Sandow. Sandow follows to the outside and brings things right back into the ring where he tags in Rhodes.

Sandow pins Bryan for two before tagging in Cody. Rhodes comes in and clamps on an arm bar. Bryan fights up to his feet, and out of the hold, peppering Rhodes with right hands, but he runs right into a knee to the stomach from Rhodes. Rhodes tags out and Sandow comes in with a series of knees to Bryan’s ribs that’s good for another near fall. Sandow hits a Russian leg sweep. He flips off Kane and hits an elbow drop before hitting Bryan with a couple of clubbing blows to the chest. Sandow locks on a rear chin lock, but Bryan is able to fight to his feet. He lands on his feet when Sandow tries for a suplex.

Both men make the tag and Kane wipes out Rhodes with a big back drop and a huge side walk slam. Kane heads up to the top rope, but he’s distracted by Sandow, allowing Rhodes to climb up after him. Rhodes tries for a superplex, but Kane pushes him away and leaps off the tope rope with a huge clothesline. Bryan tags himself in and hits a top rope head butt, but Kane pulls him off when he pins Cody. Kane and Bryan argue. Sandow pulls Kane from the ring, and Bryan backdrops Rhodes to the outside on top of Kane. Bryan heads to the apron and goes for the flying knee, but Rhodes moves and Bryan connects with Kane. Bryan heads back into the ring, but he’s pulled to the floor by Kane. They get into a shoving match. Rhodes hits Kane with a baseball slide. Rhodes brings things back into the ring and hits cross Rhodes, but Kane breaks up the pin and wears out Rhodes with right hands in the corner. Kane brings Sandow back in the ring and continues to go to work on him. The ref calls for the bell.

Backstage: Josh Matthews Interviews The Miz

Josh Matthews is backstage with the Miz. Miz says doomsday might be sooner than people might think. With Kofi Kingston as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, the bar is lowered and mediocrity is accepted. And once society accepts that, it crumbles. Prep as if the end is near. Miz will continue to be awesome. Now he has to go beat Kingston, win back his title, and in the process, save the world. This whole promo was tied to a stupid commercial for some Doomsday Preppers show that ran right before the segment.

WWE Intercontinental Title: Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz

Kofi hits Miz with a couple of right hands. Miz tries for the SCF, but Kofi fights it off. Kofi tries for Trouble in Paradise, but Miz bails to the outside. Miz heads back into the ring and takes Kofi into the corner. Kofi comes right back, taking Miz down to the mat before tossing him over the top rope to the outside. Kofi heads out after Miz and tries to whip him into the ring steps, but it’s reversed.

Miz brings things back into the ring where he puts on a rear chin lock, wearing Kofi down to the mat. Kofi is able to fight up to his feet and out of the hold, but Miz pulls him down to the mat by his hair before catching him with a running boot to the face for a two count. Miz hits his running corner clothesline, then heads to the top, hitting a double axe handle smash for another near fall. Kofi is able to connect with a giant clothesline on a charging Miz. Kofi hits a couple of clotheslines and a big dropkick before hitting the boom drop. Kofi calls for the Trouble in Paradise. Miz bails to the outside again but Kofi is quick to follow. Miz heads back inside and so does Kofi, where he rolls Miz up for two. Kofi connects with a big cross body for another two count, but then he runs into a boot from Miz. Miz hits a backbreaker, but a series of reversals leads to the SOS from Kofi. Miz rolls to the apron, but avoids a suplex on his way in. Miz drops down with Kofi’s leg on his shoulder and Kofi grabs at his knee. Miz wraps Kofi’s leg around the middle rope and wrenches away before taking off his knee pad and anything else covering Kofi’s knee. Miz stomps away at Kofi’s knee before wrapping his leg around the middle rope again. Kofi hits Miz with a back elbow before heading to the top. Miz pulls Kofi off of the ropes before locking in a single leg Boston crab. Kofi screams in pain, but he’s able to fight over to the ropes. Miz pulls him back to the center of the ring. Kofi tries for Trouble in Paradise, but Miz avoids it and tries for the SCF. Kofi fights it off and kicks Miz to the outside. Miz heads back into the ring and walks into Trouble in Paradise from Kofi. Kingston pins Miz, 1-2-3. Kofi retains.

Backstage: Kane & Daniel Bryan

Kane and Bryan were shown arguing about whose fault it was that they lost. Kane said Bryan is to blame because he had to break up his near-pinfall loss. Bryan said Kane is a freak who wears a mask 365 days per year. They continued to argue, then Bryan declared Kane impossible. Bryan tried to leave, but Kane said he’s actually the tag champs. Kane left, leaving Bryan to mutter to himself that he’s the tag champs.

WWE U.S. Title: Antonio Cesaro (c) vs. Justin Gabriel

The bell rings and Cesaro takes Gabriel right down to the mat, rubbing his face into the mat. Gabriel tries to fight up but Cesaro takes him right back down to the mat. Gabriel is able to connect with an arm drag, but Cesaro comes back with a big right hand. Gabriel comes up with a couple of chops and a monkey flip, but when he jumps to the top rope, Cesaro pushes him out to the floor. Cesaro heads out after Gabriel and slams him head first into the apron before bringing things back into the ring and hitting a leg drop. Cesaro hits a big European uppercut before mounting Gabriel and punching away. Cesaro picks up Gabriel and slams him down across the top turnbuckle before running in with a high knee in the corner. Cesaro picks up Gabriel and hits a fall away slam that’s good for a near fall. He leaps up and hits a double stomp, then another, crashing down on top of Gabriel. Cesaro clamps on an arm bar before picking up Gabriel and planting him back down on the mat. Cesaro tries for a German suplex, but Gabriel lands on his feet and hits a kick to Cesaro’s face before hitting a springboard moonsault for two. Gabriel is able to come up with a DDT out of nowhere for two. Gabriel heads to the top and tries for the 450, but Cesaro rolls out of the way. Gabriel goes across the ring and hits a moonsault into a reverse DDT for a two count. Cesaro rolls to the outside and Gabriel hits a dropkick through the ropes. Gabriel leaps from the top rope right into a giant European uppercut from Cesaro. Cesaro gets him back in the ring and hits his finisher for the pinfall to retain his title.

Backstage: Vickie Guerrero & Paul Heyman

Vickie Guerrero is backstage and she’s interrupted by Paul Heyman again. Heyman says she has thrilled Punk by deciding to cancel Hell in a Cell. He says that he and Punk are going to catch an 11 o’clock to Chicago, but they’ll be at Raw tomorrow. Vickie says the match is still on, and if he has a problem with that, he knows where he can go.

Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. The Prime Time Players

Darren Young and Sin Cara kick things off for their teams. Young is able to sidestep a reverse handspring elbow, but he catches a hurricanrana. Mysterio tags into the match and the duo hit a lionsault/leg drop combo. Mysterio is shouldered by Young, but Mysterio kicks Young into the ropes. He runs right into a big belly to belly suplex from Young. Titus tags into the ring and kicks away at Mysterio. Titus hits a big uppercut before hitting Mysterio with a big elbow to the jaw. Young tags back in and the two big men hit a double shoulder block. Titus tags back into the match and eats a couple of kicks from Mysterio. Cara is able to tag back into the ring and he hits a springboard dropkick. Cara hits Titus with a series of kicks before being tossed out to the apron. Cara hits another kick and hits a springboard cross body to take out Titus. Cara ends up shouldered and driven into the corner turnbuckle by Titus before being dropped down across his knee twice and tossed aside. Cara reverses a suplex into a body press for a two count. Cara rolls out to the apron. Cara is able to fight off both opponents briefly, but Young drops him with a suplex on the apron. Young goes for the pin but Mysterio is able to break things up. Titus tags back into the mat and kicks away at Cara, taunting him. Young pulls Cara to his feet and Cara tries to fight back, but Titus slams him down to the mat.

Sin Cara fights off Young in the corner, but Young plows him over with a giant clothesline. Cara hits Young with a low kick, but Young fights right back, tagging out to Titus. Titus slaps Cara across the face, and Cara begins to fight back. Titus takes Cara down and suplexes him. Titus breaks the hold to hit a big clothesline that’s good for two. Young tags back into the match and hits Cara with a big back elbow. Young drops Cara down across his knee with a big backbreaker. Titus tags back into the match and drop and elbow across Cara’s back. Young tosses Cara into the corner and charges in, but Cara moves and Titus crashes shoulder first into the ring post. Cara tries to make the tag, fighting off Titus with a standing sliced bread #2. Both men make the tag and Mysterio comes in with a hurricanrana to Young.

Mysterio heads to the top and hits a seated senton before planting Young with a big tilt a whirl DDT. Mysterio tries to roll up Young, but avoids a punch to the face. Mysterio catches Young with a kick to the side of the head before low bridging Titus and sending him to the outside. Cara heads to the top and leaps to the outside to take out Titus. Mysterio is able to hurricanrana Young into the ropes. Rey-Rey then hits the 6-1-9 and follows up with the pinfall for the victory.

World Heavyweight Title: Sheamus (c) vs. Big Show

We get a lock up and Show pushes Sheamus away. Show sends Sheamus into the ropes and hits a big shoulderblock. Sheamus tries to fight back, but Show takes him down with a clubbing blow across the back. Show beats on Sheamus in the corner before hitting him with a giant chop to the chest. Sheamus tries to fight back, so Show hits him with another chop to the chest. Show calls for another chop, but Sheamus fights back with a couple of body shots. Shows hits a back splash in the corner, but Sheamus pops out with a chop block to the knee. Sheamus jumps on Show and attacks him in the corner, burying his shoulder in Sheamus’ midsection. Show sends Sheamus over the top and to the outside. Show heads out after Sheamus and hits him with another big chop to the chest. Show launches Sheamus, sending him crashing into the barricade. Show picks up Sheamus and sends him back into the ring. He follows and chokes Sheamus against the middle rope. Show hits Sheamus with another big chop to the chest, and the champions crumples to the mat. Sheamus tries to fight back, so Show knees him in the face.

Show chokes Sheamus against the bottom rope with his boot. Show heads to the outside and drags Sheamus out after him, tossing him over the announcer’s table. Show brings Sheamus right back into the ring and climbs in after him. Show drops a big elbow across Sheamus’ throat, but it’s not enough for a three count. Sheamus tries to fire back with a couple of right hands, but Show tosses him over the top again, sending him out to the floor. Sheamus crawls back up to the apron and catches Show with a shoulder to the gut before slingshotting himself over the top with a shoulder block to take out Show. Sheamus hits the ropes, but Show gets his boot up and Sheamus runs right into it.

Big Show waits for Sheamus to stand, then sends him back down to the mat with a right hand across the back. Show drives his knee into Sheamus’ head. Sheamus pulls himself to his feet and hits Show with a series of rights and lefts. Sheamus hits the ropes and runs right into a big bear hug from Show. Sheamus clubs away at Show’s back to break the hold. He tries to pick up Show for a slam, but he falls back and Show falls on top of him. Show calls for the chokeslam, but Sheamus is able to counter with a DDT. Sheamus scrambles for the pin, but Show tosses him off to the outside. Sheamus hangs Show up on the top rope before sitting on the top rope and clubbing away at Show’s chest.

Show grabs Sheamus around the throat, but Sheamus fights it off and leaps over Show. Show is able to connect with the chokeslam, but Sheamus won’t stay down for a three count. Show stands over top of Sheamus and tries for the camel clutch, but Sheamus fights back. Show drops an elbow, but misses Sheamus. Sheamus comes back and tries for the cloverleaf, but Show kicks him away, sending him to the outside again. Show comes down with another chop across Sheamus’ chest. He picks up the champ, but Sheamus falls back and pushes Show into the ring post before hitting him with a big shoulder block, driving him back into the post again. Back in the ring, Show grabs Sheamus by the throat, but Sheamus fights it off and hits a couple of running axe handle smashes to take Show off his feet.

Sheamus tries for the Brogue kick, but Show avoids it and hits the KO punch. Show goes for the pin, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Show goes for another KO punch, but Sheamus ducks it and connects with the Brogue kick. Show is able to kick out at two. Sheamus gets to his feet first and psychs himself up. Sheamus tries for the Brogue kick, but Show catches him with a KO punch instead. Show pins Sheamus. We have a new World Heavyweight Champion.

Multiple People Backstage:

Booker T is shown backstage and Eve tries to talk to him, but he says he needs to check on Sheamus. Teddy Long walks in an says Eve tries to make him look bad and he attacked Kaitlyn, and tonight she’ll get her comeuppance. Eve says he’d like that. Zack Ryder comes in and says they’d all like it. Ryder is dressed as a witch, and says he’s dressed as Eve. Eve storms out to get ready for her match. Santino comes in dressed as Lady Gaga and sings and dances for a bit before Ron Simmons comes in and says ‘DAMN!’ breaking everything up.

Backstage: Vince McMahon & CM Punk

Vince McMahon is shown talking on his cell phone backstage. He turns around and Punk is waiting there. He tells Vince to call off the Cell match tonight. Vince asks if Punk is lacking confidence in himself, or if he’s intimidated, or scared of Ryback. Vince says he needs to go out and prove to everybody that CM Punk is the best in the world. Punk doesn’t look too happy about it as he walks away.

WWE Divas Title: Eve (c) vs. Kaitlyn vs. Layla

Kaitlyn and Layla team up on Eve right away. Eve bails to the outside and Layla follows. Eve shoves Layla away before begin taken out by Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn brings things back into the ring where she and Layla take turns working over Eve. Layla rolls up Kaitlyn for two. This leads to a bit of a shove before both go for the cover on Eve. Layla takes Kaitlyn over with an arm drag. Eve breaks things up and sends Layla from the ring. Eve slams Kaitlyn into the ropes before standing on and dropping a knee on Kaitlyn’s ankle. Eve ties up Kaitlyn’s legs and wrenches back. Kaitlyn reaches for the ropes, but Eve breaks the hold to focus on Layla. Layla catches Eve with a couple of big kicks before stomping and unloading on Eve in the corner with a series of forearms. Layla comes out of the corner with a big cross body. Eve throws Layla down into the splits and Layla does the same to Eve.

Kaitlyn shoulders Layla and drops her down across her knee. Layla gets up and catches Kaitlyn with a kick to the side of the head, but the pin is broken up by Eve. Layla breaks up a pin attempt by Eve. Eve tosses Layla into the ropes and is rolled up by Kaitlyn for two. Kaitlyn kicks Eve in the chest before taking Eve to the mat with a bulldog. Kaitlyn takes Layla into the corner and buries her shoulder into Layla’s midsection, but she eats a boot to the face. Layla hits a cross body, but Kaitlyn rolls through and slams her to the mat. She goes for the pin, but Eve comes in with a dive from the middle rope. Eve covers Layla and gets the victory.

Backstage: Josh Matthews Interviews Big Show

Josh Matthews is backstage with the Big Show. Show says no more 45 seconds, he’s reached the top of the mountain. Tonight everyone’s worst nightmare has come through. The giant is the World Heavyweight Champion, and he dares anyone to come take it away from him. Sheamus is shown backstage being checked on by medical personnel.

WWE Title (Hell In A Cell): CM Punk (c) vs. Ryback

The Cell is shown being lowered to the ground for the main event of the evening. It’s always an impressive sight to see as the Cell has grown to an impressive height from what it started at. CM Punk is the first man to make his way out to the ring and he’s accompanied by his advisor Paul Heyman. Punk gets a nice reaction from the crowd on his way down toward the Cell. Ryback is the next man to make his way out to the ring, and the undefeated monster gets a pretty nice reaction from the crowd, although there are a couple of audible ‘Goldberg’ chants. The bell rings and Punk heads to the outside. Punk heads back into the ring and circles Ryback, avoiding a lock up and heading to the outside again.

Heyman tells Punk he believes in him. Punk heads back into the ring and circles Ryback. Punk ducks another lock up, and chops Ryback. Ryback chases his across the ring, picks him up by the neck, and sends him across the ring, stomping down into Punk’s chest. Ryback slams Punk down to the mat repeatedly before whipping him across the ring hard. Ryback sends Punk over the top rope to the outside. Ryback follows and Punk tries to pull the door open. Ryback tosses Punk into the cage, then does it again. Punk crawls under the ring and Heyman begs Ryback to leave him alone. Ryback looks under the ring and Punk sprays Ryback with a fire extinguisher before charging and sending him crashing into the Cell wall. Punk grabs a chair from under the ring, and he runs right into a big boot from Ryback, sending the chair crashing into his skull.

Ryback picks Punk up and gorilla presses him into the ring. Punk hits a springboard clothesline, then heads up to the top. Punk hits a double axe handle smash, then heads up top again. Punk hits another double axe handle, then heads up to the top a third time. Punk leaps off and is caught by Ryback before being driven into the corner. Punk catches Ryback with a back kick to the face to stop his momentum. Punk leaps through the ropes to take out Ryback. Punk hits Ryback with the chair. Ryback charges, and Punk moves, allowing Ryback to crash into the steel steps. Punk rolls back into the ring. Ryback is up and in the ring quickly. Punk clamps on a rear chin lock. Ryback fights to his feet with Punk on his back, dropping him with a backpack stunner. Punk struggles up to his feet and avoids a spear in the corner. Ryback goes in shoulder first into the ring post, but recovers quickly. Punk hits the running knee in the corner, following up with a clothesline. Punk heads up to the top rope and hits the elbow drop.

Punk hits Ryback over and over again with a kendo stick. Ryback kinda shrugs off the blows and no-sells them. Ryback clotheslines Punk down and then spinebusters him. Ryback calls for the Shell Shock. He hoists Punk up and walks around the ring with him. Before he can hit the move, however, the referee drops down and low-blows Ryback. Punk rolls up Ryback and the ref does a fast-count to three. Punk wins.

Winner and STILL WWE Champion: CM Punk

After The Match:

Ryback recovers and takes out the ref before launching Punk into the Cell wall. Ryback then turns back to the ref and launches him into the Cell wall before tossing him back into the ring. Ryback winds up and clotheslines the ref before picking him up and pressing him over his head, throwing him to the outside into the Cell wall. Heyman tries to drag Punk out of the Cell, but Ryback stops him. Ryback whips Punk into the Cell and Punk leaps and begins climbing to the top of the Cell. Ryback goes after him. Finally on top of the cell, Ryback picks Punk up and hits him with the Shell Shock on top of the cage. Ryback leads the fans into a “feed me more” chant. The show ends with Ryback standing over a beaten down Punk on top of the cell.
