West Ham & Newcastle have been in contract with Bruno Génésio

RMC report that Lyon manager Bruno Génésio is closing in on a departure from the club after it was announced on Tuesday night that his contract extension was being withheld after the club failed to make it to the final of the Coupe de France.

When these contract extension discussions were being had, they were lead from Génésio’s side exclusively by himself and did not include his new agent, Pini Zahavi.

Two Premier League teams have been in contact over the French tactician’s availability, according to the outlet’s lead reporter Mohamed Bouhafsi: West Ham United and Newcastle United.

Up until today, Génésio had asked his agents not to inform him over any approaches from any other clubs until his future situation with Lyon was clarified.

At the moment, Génésio still prefers to stay with Les Gones and extend the adventure, but President Aulas will have the final decision.
