US To Withdraw $3 Billion Aid Given To Pakistan After It Fails To Crack Down On Terrorists

The Pentagon said that the US military is mulling to reallocate $300 million assistance to Pakistan due to the country’s lack of “decisive actions” in support of regional American strategy.

The US has been pushing Pakistan to crack down on terrorist safe havens in the country. At the beginning of 2018, US suspended hundreds of millions of dollars in security assistance to Islamabad.

“Due to a lack of Pakistani decisive actions in support of the South Asia Strategy… $300M (actually $323.6M to include non-Pakistan funds) was reprogrammed by (the Defense Department) in the June/July 2018 time frame for other urgent priorities,” Lieutenant Colonel Kone Faulkner said in an email to AFP.
