TNA’s Gunner Suggests That He is Joining NXT Soon

As has been rumored for weeks now, Gunner (real name Chad Lail) appears to be joining WWE’s NXT show . He is one of many rumored wrestlers to be joining the brand soon. Gunner became a part-time wrestler back in 2015 as he decided to look towards a future in acting and bodybuilding. It appears now though that he will continue his wrestling career thanks to the new opportunity. WWE has apparently been interested in hiring Lail for a few years now. While not confirmed by WWE or Lail as of yet, the latter did post this on Twitter recently:

“Hard work pays off. I almost hung it up. I’m glad I didn’t. World…..here I come. Time to TakeOver!”
— Gunner (@GUNNER_ChadLail) May 26, 2017

For those unaware of who Gunner is, he’s a 34 year-old from North Carolina who served in the Iraq War as a machine gunner, and he ranked as a lance corporal. He returned to the United States and pursued a wrestling career under the ring name Gunner. He became the longest reigning NWA National Heavyweight Champion in history before being signed by TNA/Impact Wrestling. He joined Hulk Hogan’s Immortal stable before becoming a one-time TNA Television Champion and TNA Tag Team Champion. Lail left TNA Wrestling back in June of 2015.
Lail is just one of many rumored ex-TNA wrestlers that are likely joining WWE very soon. Crazzy Steve, Mike Bennett, and Maria Kanellis are all still believed to have either signed, or will soon be signed with WWE. This combined with the rumored influx of new former Ring of Honor wrestlers proves that WWE is definitely looking for new talent to load up their various shows. Expect for Gunner to be the first of many new signings that we hear about in the next few weeks. We will have to wait and see now if WWE or Triple H will confirm Lail’s signing with the NXT brand.
