Title Unification at WM35? Bellas Podcast Debuts, Bagwell on AEW

Last night’s episode of SmackDown was supposed to feature a Fatal 4-Way match between Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Carmella, and Naomi with the winner facing Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35. Instead, Charlotte Flair surprisingly defeated Asuka for her title on last night’s show and the Fatal 4-Way match was scrapped. The choice to do the title change was reportedly made yesterday just hours before SmackDown went on the air. According to Cageside Seats, there is speculation that the company is now building towards both women’s titles being unified at WrestleMania 35. Flair is still set to face Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey in a Triple Threat Match for the Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 35, so her win last night may suggest that somebody in that match will be leaving MetLife Stadium with both titles.
The Bella Twins have decided to launch their very own podcast. Several wrestlers and celebrities have started their own podcast but Nikki and Brie Bella are among the latest to join the trend. The first episode of their show has already premiered online and features Brie’s husband and current WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, as a guest. Nikki and Brie both announced their retirement from wrestling during Total Bellas this week, but Nikki has already teased returning at some point to win the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Given that The Bellas both still have a very strong relationship with WWE and its performers, expect the two of them to have some interesting guests on future editions of their new podcast. Fans and members of the wrestling industry are buzzing about the launch of All Elite Wrestling and its Double or Nothing event scheduled for May. As more information about the promotion comes out, more big names like Chris Jericho and Jim Ross take notice and start working with AEW officials. One person who apparently does not understand the hype is former WCW competitor Buff Bagwell. On Wrestling Inc’s. WINCLY podcast, Bagwell stated that he doesn’t understand why AEW is being made into such a big deal because he doesn’t know who the key members are, therefore most fans also won’t know who they are either. The key members that he is referring to are Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks. He also spoke about his brief run with WWE during his appearance on the show.

“At my age, [WWE is the only option], because these other boys are for the young kids and unfortunately, they don’t get it. Nobody knows them. I’m in the industry and don’t know them.” Bagwell said before adding, “If I don’t know them, y’all don’t know them. So I don’t get it.”
