Tennessee Mojo 2023 named 2018 NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Tennessee Mojo 2023 was selected by its peers as the 2018 NFCA Travel Ball National Coaching Staff of the Year, the Association announced on Friday afternoon.

Under the direction of head coach Michael Danley and his assistant coaches – Richie Davis, John Hawkes, Martin Roman, Brian Sailor – Tennessee Mojo 2023 captured the 2018 PGF 12U Premier Nationals with a 1-0 victory over Diamond Sports Hotshots in the title game. Ashtyn Danley, Makayla Huddleston and Delacia Deleslin earned all-tournament honors, with Danley taking home MVP honors. Danley came within one out of tossing a no-hitter in the championship game. The Mojo, which finished tied for second in the final Triple Crown Sports 12U U.S. Club Rankings, also earned a third-place finish at the 2018 World Fastpitch Championships.

“What an honor to be chosen by your peers,” said Danley. “We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to coach in the Mojo organization. I truly believe we are kids first. We do our best to put these young ladies in every opportunity to be successful. This couldn’t happen without the trust of our parents to teach and lead these young ladies.”

Selected as the South’s Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, Tennessee Mojo 2023 was joined by West Virginia Legends 18U (East), Premier Fastpitch (Ill.) Paulson 16U (North), Iowa Premier Black – KC (South Central) and The Factory (Calif.) 16U Black (West) as the NFCA’s regional winners.
