With Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of Les Aiglons now imminent, Boufal has become a priority for the Ligue 1 side and has given his preference to the club in terms of future destination, despite multiple French 1st division teams wanting to acquire his services.

Fee discussions are centring around the €10m mark and a deal could be close in the coming days between both sides.

The player has already agreed to join Nice, and a contract could be finalised by the end of the week.

In recent days, Bordeaux and Marseille have also attempted to sign Boufal, but both on loans with options to buy, which interests the Saints less.

OM are particularly interested in the former Lille man, with Sporting Director Andoni Zubizaretta having met with the player’s entourage in recent days, with Boufal having been attracted to a move to the Vélodrome. However, it appears that L’OM won’t be able to compete with Nice’s newfound financial muscle.
