Rich Swann Update, Vince Hates a Chant, How did ‘Ferdinand’ Do?

Rich Swann has been the subject of controversy in recent weeks due to an incident that occurred recently involving his wife. Swann and his wife, independent wrestler Su Yung, were allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident which ultimately saw the 205 Live star get arrested. Swann is currently suspended from WWE indefinitely and had his chance to fight for the Cruiserweight Championship stripped away from him as a result. Su Yung took to Facebook today to post the following: “I can not wait to see my husband tomorrow! After such an awesome weekend of wrestling debuting in two different promotions across America nothing would be better than to see his face.” This may indicate that the couple have reconciled. Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Swann is working with attorneys and investigators on his case at the moment.
It has become extremely popular to begin chants at wrestling events in recent years, and while some are not as beloved as others, the general consensus from the wrestling community has been that fans who have payed money for a ticket should be allowed to chant whatever they like. However, it appears as though one chant has finally broken Vince McMahon. According to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Vince cannot stand the “one fall” chant that occurs whenever the ring announcer declares the rules of a match. In fact, it appears as though McMahon hates the chant so much that the announcers were advised to do all that they can to prevent fans from doing it during recent matches.

John Cena’s film portfolio continues to expand with each passing day, and Cena recently starred in a brand new animated children’s film called Ferdinand. Despite the film receiving decent reviews from critics and audiences, it reportedly received the worst opening weekend gross ever for the studio behind the film, Blue Sky Animation. BoxOfficeMojo reports that the film made just $13,000,000 in its opening weekend. It certainly didn’t help that the film was released alongside the massive juggernaut that is Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which received an estimated $220,000,000 worldwide gross during the weekend. Despite the poor gross this past weekend, the movie still came in second behind Star Wars at the box office.
