Reigns vs. Owens steel cage title match set for WWE SmackDown

Following TLC, Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens are set to face off in another stipulation match.

WWE has announced that Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Owens in a steel cage match on this Friday’s Christmas Day episode of SmackDown. Reigns retained against Owens in a tables, ladders, and chairs match at TLC on Sunday night. The steel cage stipulation for their rematch is due to Jey Uso getting involved throughout Reigns vs. Owens at TLC.

This is the second title match that’s been announced for Friday’s Christmas Day edition of SmackDown. Big E will also challenge for Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Championship on the show.

Friday’s SmackDown is being taped in advance. The following week’s New Year’s Day edition of SmackDown will air live.
