Cagliari have confirmed the arrival of 31-year-old Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman on a season-long loan from Marseille.

After a loan with Genoa, Strootman stays in Serie A – there is a clause in the deal that enables Cagliari to extend the loan for another season, making it potentially a 2-year agreement.

OM will however continue to pay the majority of Strootman’s salary, with sources telling Get French Football News that Cagliari are covering only around 40% of his wages.
