News on Alberto El Patron’s Return, Joey Ryan on WWE, SD Invasion

Alberto El Patron has been off of Impact Wrestling television for several months due to a suspension that he received earlier this year that also caused him to surrender his World Heavyweight Championship. Patron has been rumored to return to Impact at their upcoming Bound for Glory show for a while now, and it appears that the company wants him to return in a big way. PWInsider reports that the plan is to have Alberto involved in the main event match between Johnny Impact and Eli Drake. The company reportedly is looking to either add him into the match, thus making it a triple threat, or having him serve as the special guest referee for the match.
One of the top names on the independent wrestling scene is Joey Ryan. Though opinions on Ryan have differed among wrestling fans, he still remains a top draw at the moment despite never signing with WWE. When asked if he would consider joining WWE by a fan on Twitter recently, Ryan was quick to shoot the idea down. He cited lower pay, higher injury risks, management deciding who receives opportunities, and having to move his family down to Orlando as reasons why he would prefer to continue working elsewhere in wrestling. Ryan also stated that he wants to continue to make independent wrestling grow, and that fellow wrestlers who have made the same decsision not to go to WWE are doing a great service towards the industry.

I’m 37 with 17 years in wrestling and 0 cancellations due to injury. Also, the WWE rate of injury is way higher than anywhere I’ve wrestled. https://t.co/huumM3LzRs

I’d rather be a pioneer & change the course of business. The precedent some of us are setting on indies won’t be fully appreciated for years https://t.co/eClua8ouDI

On the indies, you bet on yourself. In WWE, you’re betting on a person in a position of power liking you. https://t.co/Oyyt0E9AJi

Of course they show the most profit in history when their wrestlers are getting paid the lowest ever. https://t.co/cOYMNx9AEJ

Imagine me telling my wife I’m going to cut my income by 2/3rds AND move us to Florida just to be with WWE. https://t.co/EWL6kON53i

The most recent edition of Raw ended with superstars from Smackdown invading the show and attacking most of the Raw roster. The angle was done as a way to hype up the Smackdown vs. Raw matches that will be taking place at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view. PWInsider recently revealed that the invasion angle was actually taped much earlier in the day. The Smackdown talents were also told to give stiff shots to the Raw wrestlers and make it look “physically brutal” in order to make it seem more genuine. In fact, it is being said that when one wrestler was caught delivering a worked punch, cameras stopped rolling and production had to reset.
