Mamadou Sakho is interested by a possible move to Lyon – Le Parisien

Le Parisien report that 30-year-old French central defender Mamadou Sakho is interested in a possible return to Ligue 1 with Lyon, after Les Gones concretely positioned themselves in recent days in a bid to conclude an early summer window deal for the ex-PSG man.

Jean-Michel Aulas is personally invested in a possible deal for Sakho, who he has already tried to sign multiple times throughout the player’s career, without success.

Crystal Palace have no intention of getting in the way of a deal if an adequate offer is made, with the London club looking for around €12m in order to sell.

Newly appointed Head of Recruitment, Bruno Cheyrou, is in charge of negotiations with both Palace and the player on Lyon’s side.

Asked about transfer business more broadly on Canal Football Club on Sunday night, Lyon President Aulas preferred to refer to his colleague and Sporting Director Juninho:

“See with Juninho, I know if this is a particular target of ours or not, but it is for him to speak on it. I liked Mamadou a lot, he is a personality that appeals to me, but there are also other options at a very high level, it is up to those responsible to choose.”
