RMC Sport and Gianluca di Marzio report that Ligue 1 side Lyon have struck a deal to sign Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta from AC Milan.

The 23-year-old is expected to join for €20m plus a sell-on fee percentage clause and sign a 5-year contract worth €2.5m a year.

This deal, if completed, will be highly controversial at Lyon board level, as it demonstrates Sporting Director Juninho’s continued desire to ignore the recruitment cell & work of Bruno Cheyrou & “go Brazilian” à la Jean Lucas, Thiago Mendes, Camilo & Bruno Guimarães.
