LEINSTER PROP JACK McGrath has been cited for an alleged stamp during his side’s 24-11 win over Ulster on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was not yellow carded during the Guinness Pro12 encounter, but an independent Citing Commissioner has found grounds to cite the Ireland international.

McGrath will attend an independent PRO12 Rugby Disciplinary Committee later this week, where the case will be examined.

The citing comes under World Rugby law 10.4 (b):

McGrath was penalised by referee Marius Mitrea during Leinster’s win at the RDS on Saturday for use of the boot on Ulster hooker Rory Best, actions which provoked some criticism from BBC NI pundits Maurice Field and Andy Ward.

Under World Rugby’s sanctions for foul play, law 10.4(b) carries the following sanction entry points – low end: two weeks; mid-range: five weeks, and top end: nine to 52 weeks.
