Judge Victoria Beckham

A day after Glamour’s ‘Woman of the Year’ award, Victoria Beckham sat on the judging panel of the River Island Gold Award at Graduate Fashion Week. The former Spice Girl judged the £20,000 prize at the fashion event showcasing new British-trained talent. The prize was awarded to two joint winners, Jaspar Chadprajong from Ravensbourne College and Nicolas Thomas from UWE Bristol. The prestigious £20,000 top prize is the largest offered in the world of British fashion education.

Victoria Beckham agreed to sit on the judging panel after Graduate Fashion Week chairman Terry Mansfield personally requested her involvement. The other judges alongside Victoria Beckham will be Glenda Bailey, editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar US; Alber Elbaz, artistic director of French label Lanvin; and River Island MD Richard Bradbury. Graduate Fashion Week launched in 1991 to showcase young design talent. It attracts fashion scouts from across the globe.
