There’s no denying Emily Ratajkowski’s superstar sex appeal. Her Instagram page is filled with lingerie and bikini selfies, and let’s not forget that she became an overnight celebrity after dancing topless in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” music video in 2013. 

As a woman who fully embraces her sexuality, some believe Ratajkowski should not be able to express her views on feminism. In December, news reporter Piers Morgan criticized the beauty for “promoting feminism” with her LOVE advent calendar shoot, where she poses in lingerie in a bath of spaghetti. And now, social media users are calling her out for protesting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in what they deem to be inappropriate attire.

On Thursday, Emily joined actress Amy Schumer in Washington, D.C. to stand up against Kavanaugh — who has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women — wearing jeans and a white crop top sans bra.

During the protest, she and Schumer were detained by police, and later Ratajkowski posted about her arrest on social media, sparking major backlash from haters. 

“No one takes you seriously babe. Cute outfit though,” a woman responded to the image, while another user accused her of “twisted toxic feminism.”

However, some fans came to Ratajkowski’s defense, highlighting that the nasty comments about her appearance only proved the actress’s point. “To all the men commenting about her appearance, saying things like ‘I would’ve liked to frisk/cuff ya,’ asking why she’s not wearing a bra, you’re a huge part of the problem,” one user wrote. 

“You perpetuate the very culture that she’s protesting,” the Twitter user added. “Educate yourselves, respect women.” 

We commend Emily for using her platform for positive change — no matter what she wears to do it.
