Drew McIntyre made is official WWE return/NXT debut at the most recent set of NXT tapings. McIntyre returned and was beloved by the fans in the Full Sail audience. He wrestled Oney Lorcan in his first match back and also picked up the victory against him. He also has a brand new entrance theme involving bagpipes.
McIntyre was brought up to the main roster initially in 2009, before being let go in 2014. Since then, he has made a name for himself on the independent circuit as well as in TNA, which may have prompted WWE to make him an offer to return. After losing stars such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, and The Revival, it seems as if NXT is once again in rebuilding mode. Drew McIntyre is a major pickup for NXT and will likely prove to be a very valuable asset in the next year or so.
McIntyre’s first match back will be airing next week on the 4/12 edition of NXT.
