Sometimes memes can take on a life of their own, so Daniel Radcliffe would like to set the record straight: He hasn’t been approached to play Wolverine now that Hugh Jackman has hung up the claws. Last week, X-Men movie producer Lauren Shuler Donner told reporters that they expect the role of Wolverine to be recast once Disney’s acquisition of Fox is complete, but no names have been discussed.
During an interview with Wired, responding to the autocomplete query “Is Daniel Radcliffe the new Wolverine?” Radcliffe joked, “There’s going to be a new Wolverine movie, in which it starts off with Hugh Jackman being put into a hot wash. And then when he comes out, it’s me. So yes, I’m very happy to announce that here.”
“This is what happens when you make jokes,” Radcliffe deadpanned during an interview with IGN while promoting his new TBS comedy Miracle Workers. “Wouldn’t it be great if you could just start casting yourself in things by just saying them in interviews? So I guess people have been asking something about me and Wolverine, and I made a joke about [playing] Wolverine after being in a hot wash, like I’d been shrunk in a hot wash, and the internet seems to think that I was putting that out there on my dream board cosmic ordering system.”
Radcliffe’s Miracle Workers co-star, Geraldine Viswanathan (who’s coincidentally working with Jackman in Cory Finley’s upcoming film Bad Education), joked, “You should do that, though – a comedy where Wolverine has gone through the wash.”
“A comedy where Wolverine has got tiny? And now I’m not as equipped to fight but I’m still really sharp? That would be great,” Radcliffe agreed.
“Like a little baby wolf,” Viswanathan suggested.
“Baby Wolf, we’ve got a title!” Radcliffe quipped. “‘Daniel Radcliffe is… Baby Wolf!’ I’d actually be really happy with that. I don’t think we have helped the issue with this interview. All I’m doing now is thinking of taglines. But there’s no truth in it.”
But that’s not the only internet controversy the former Harry Potter star has been sucked into: “I’ll also take this moment to say I was not cut out of the LEGO Movie [sequel], if we’re quashing rumors,” Radcliffe laughed. “The producers of LEGO said they had wanted to get Harry Potter in there and hadn’t, they didn’t get him in for some reason, and that turned into ‘Dan Radcliffe was cut from the LEGO Movie.’ And I was like, ‘I wasn’t! I wasn’t in it!’ I would’ve loved to be cut from the LEGO Movie. I didn’t have the chance!”
So there you have it – Radcliffe probably won’t be the next Wolverine, but he did admit, “If some super talented writer wants to write Baby Wolf and turn it into a massive franchise, I’m in.”

\r\nThis is a woman who thinks the appropriate way to punish a student involves making him perform a ritual which, thanks to magic, causes him to bleed over and over again \u2013 one of many despicable acts. The fact that she spoke in a blatantly forced sing-song voice and wore gaudy pink clothing only added to her hideousness. Imelda Staunton does a great job playing this character, but it should be noted that as nasty as Umbridge is in the film, in the book, she\u0027s even worse \u2013 causing many a Harry Potter reader to feel true hate for this fictional character. A longtime supporter of Voldemort, it was his actions that set into motion the entire plotline of The Chamber of Secrets, as he slid Tom Riddle\u0027s old diary into Ginny Weasley\u0027s cauldron. His unwarranted, biting comments about the Weasley family are enough to make us hate him, but on top of that, Lucius has shown he is willing to do anything in support of his Dark Lord, including one-on-one confrontations with Harry.\r\n

\r\nLucius is brought to life in the films by the great Jason Isaacs, who gives the character just the right arrogant, smug attitude \u2013 you can feel Lucius\u0027 absolute conviction in his actions, and his anger that a boy like Potter would dare attempt to stop Voldemort and those, like Lucius, who follow his lead. He\u0027s a wizard who has to fight against his innate instincts to keep to himself and embrace his destiny as a hero. Lupin is a kind, caring presence in Harry\u0027s life, and while Dumbledore certainly was already looking out for Harry, Lupin was a much more available source of comfort and support for the orphaned boy, during the single year he taught him \u2013 at least when it wasn\u0027t a full moon. An old friend of Harry\u0027s parents, he was able to give Harry personal, intimate insight into who they were that no one else had been able to provide.\r\n

\r\nAll that, and he\u0027s a werewolf! Lupin doesn\u0027t see that as a plus of course, but it\u0027s a very cool extra component to the character, as we see this thoughtful, warm man work to control the monster he turns into. Imelda Staunton does a great job playing this character, but it should be noted that as nasty as Umbridge is in the film, in the book, she\u0027s even worse \u2013 causing many a Harry Potter reader to feel true hate for this fictional character. \r\nThis is a woman who thinks the appropriate way to punish a student involves making him perform a ritual which, thanks to magic, causes him to bleed over and over again \u2013 one of many despicable acts. Imelda Staunton does a great job playing this character, but it should be noted that as nasty as Umbridge is in the film, in the book, she\u0027s even worse \u2013 causing many a Harry Potter reader to feel true hate for this fictional character.
