This year’s Extreme Rules will be the eighth pay per view that the WWE have put on under the chronology. What always makes this show so fascinating is that anything goes and this opens the door for some excellent contests.
Here are the best bets for Extreme Rules which will give you something to cheer on as the night unfolds.
Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles – WWE World Heavyweight Championship
This is the second consecutive pay-per-view that these two men will fight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. At Payback, Reigns, with the help of interferences from Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and Usos, retained his title. Given how Styles was hard done by at Payback, he has been given a second opportunity to try and win the biggest prize in WWE.

Although Styles proved at Payback he is more that good enough to mix it with the best in the sport, it is hard to see him getting the better of Reigns under Extreme Rules. The ‘no rules’ stipulation will almost certainly favor the title holder and as he has often done before, he should find a way of retaining his crown where he is at the time of writing at 1/5 to do so in the Paddy Power WWE odds for the main event.
Prediction: Reigns to beat Styles – 1/5
The Miz vs Kevin Owens vs Cesaro vs Sami Zayn – Fatal four-way for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Given it is a four-way contest, this is the most competitive contest of the night. The rivalry between these four men has been brewing for a while now which has resulted in the WWE Intercontinental title switching hands on several occasions in the build up to Extreme Rules.
When this match was initially made, it was set to be a triple threat match with The Miz, Kevin Owens and Cesaro all involved. Zayn then beat The Miz to earn the right to also be part of the contest.
Although a fatal four-way match reduces the chance of interference having an impact on the result, you can’t underestimate The Miz’s wife, Maryse, who will be ringside looking out for her man. She helped her husband win the Intercontinental Championship on Raw when he defeated Zack Ryder the very next night after the latter won the belt at Wrestlemania 32. She could have a big say on the outcome of this match and, if she does, The Miz is likely to come out on top of the four men.
Prediction: The Miz to beat Owens, Cesaro and Zayn – 5/6
Dean Ambrose vs Chris Jericho – Asylum match
There’ll be nowhere to hide for Ambrose and Jericho at Extreme Rules as they will be locked inside a steel cage with weapons hanging down from the roof.

This type of match is right up Ambrose’s street as he is one of the toughest men in the WWE. He beat Jericho at Payback and he should be able to do the same again inside the cage which is likely to lead to a thrilling match to watch.
Prediction: Ambrose to beat Jericho – 1/4
