Antero Henrique is quitting PSG, no room for him upon Leonardo’s arrival

Former Porto Sporting Director Antero Henrique is quitting his position at PSG following the imminent arrival of Leonardo.

Whilst Leonardo’s arrival has been quasi-certain for 10 days, the matter of whether or not there would be a different role for Henrique, or whether the pair could co-exist at PSG, had not yet been finalised, until today, according to RMC.

Antero Henrique signed a mutual termination agreement at the PSG offices this afternoon, in a contract executed by Jean-Claude Blanc, the club’s Director General.

Henrique, despite well-documented tensions with manager Thomas Tuchel, leaves the club amicably and wanted to accelerate his departure before the arrival of Leonardo.

Henrique’s departure announcement is due to occur officially tomorrow.

Our colleagues at Soccer Link understand that the Portuguese deal-maker has already received a proposal from Shanghai SIPG to fulfil a similar Sporting Director role.

Should Henrique join the Chinese Super League outfit, he would be joining up with manager and former Porto colleague Victor Pereira. His special relationship with super agent Kia Joorabchian is the root cause of this potential job opportunity.
