Missing Colo. Mom: Idaho Woman May Have Dumped Phone, Reports Say

TELLER COUNTY, CO – Sources reported Wednesday that a 32-year-old female nurse from Twin Falls, Idaho is being investigated for possibly “disposing of” the phone of missing Colorado mother Kelsey Berreth, 29.

Patrick Frazee, 32, Berreth’s fiancé and father of her 1-year-old child, is being held without bail in the Teller County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and solicitation for murder.

Berreth’s cellphone pinged near Gooding, Idaho, more than 600 miles from her Woodland Park townhome, after she had been missing for several days. Messages sent from the cellphone three days after her disappearance on Thanksgiving day said she wouldn’t be going to work.

ABC News reported the woman, not yet identified, had not been charged. Law enforcement agencies in Idaho have been working with a task force of local agencies including the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.

Frazee was arrested on Dec. 21, almost a month after Berreth’s disappearance.

Law enforcement searchers with a backhoe and cadaver dogs searched Frazee’s 34-acre ranch in Florissant. They also removed evidence from Berreth’s townhome before charging Frazee with murder.

Woodland Park police Chief Miles DeYoung said last week it was possible that there might be other arrests forthcoming in connection with the young flying instructor’s disappearance.

Although the flight-instructor’s body has not yet been found, police have said they believe Berreth was killed in her Woodland Park townhome.

Documents for the case, including the arrest warrant and probable cause affidavit, have been sealed by a judge because of the ongoing investigation.

Frazee is scheduled for a hearing on Jan. 29 to possibly enter a plea. At that public hearing evidence will be presented in court against him, 4th Judicial District Attorney Daniel May said Monday. It’s possible the documents will be unsealed then.

The couple’s daughter is in the custody of Berreth’s family.

On Dec. 11, the Woodland Police Department released a short surveillance video taken Nov. 22 at the Safeway grocery store that showed Berreth entering the store with her baby’s car seat and loading the seat into a grocery cart.

Kelsey Berreth was employed as a flight instructor for Doss Aviation in Pueblo.

Anyone with information on Kelsey Berreth’s disappearance is still asked to contact the police at [email protected].
