Game of Thrones’ Harry Lloyd Cast as Professor X in Legion’s Final Season

The Legion television series has cast Game of Thrones’ Harry Lloyd as Professor X.

The official Legion Twitter account posted the news stating Stephanie Corneliussen would be playing Gabrielle Haller, Legion’s mother, while Harry Lloyd has been cast as his father, Professor X. This is despite previous reports which suggested season 3 probably wouldn’t include Professor X.

Lloyd is known for his portrayal of Viserys Targaryen, Daenerys’ brother in Game of Thrones. Corneliussen is a Danish model and actress best known for her role as Joanna Wellick in Mr. Robot.

Considering Corneliussen is 31, Lloyd is 35 and lead actor Dan Stevens who plays David Haller/Legion is 36 years old, it’s likely these two actors will portray younger versions of Haller’s parents, either in a flashback or possibly through some form of time travel: it is the X-Men universe, after all.

Legion follows the story of David Haller, a mentally unstable and incredibly powerful mutant from the X-Men comics. The third season of Legion, which will be its last, is set to air sometime in 2019 following Season 2’s cliffhanger finale.
