In what could prove to be game changer for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital, more than 14.64 lakh households paid a zero charge for the electricity bills issued in September, under Delhi government’s first month of free electricity scheme.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, in August, announced free electricity scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Kirayedar Bijli Meter Yojna’, for tenants to get prepaid meters.

Electricity of up to 200 units is free for domestic consumers as well as tenants living in the national capital.
