OGC Nice have made Hatem Ben Arfa a club record offer in order to attempt to convince the French international to sign a contract extension with Les Aiglons and prevent him for joining one of Lazio, PSG, Lyon, Barcelona, Fluminense, Flamengo, Fenerbahce or Tigres.
Following the 80% sale of OGC Nice to a Chinese-American consortium which was confirmed on Friday during a press conference, Nice have gone on the offensive to convince HBA to stay.
OGC Nice have offered Ben Arfa €450,000 a month gross with a €5m signing on bonus, an offer that they have never made anyone before in the history of the club, according to L’Équipe.
This offer is undoubtedly financially greater than what Lyon are offering the player and is also three times the salary that he received with Les Aiglons during the 2015/16 campaign.
The player is however quite attracted to the idea of playing in Brazil, even if it seems more likely that he will remain in Europe next season.
PSG are sort of dragging out Ben Arfa’s decision on his future because they do not want to sanction any moves until they have resolved their manager situation.
As for Nice, Ben Arfa has held discussions with new manager Lucien Favre and these went well. Can Les Aiglons keep him? There is certainly a greater possibility now than ever before.
