Speaking to reporters this afternoon, PSG’s new signing Hatem Ben Arfa announced his intentions for this new project and adventure.

To be honest the rumour about Barcelona was true, not the Atletico Madrid one, for Sevilla, it was also true. It is true that I was close to signing for Sevilla. At the last moment, I had discussions with PSG representatives and they told me that if I wanted to win the Champions League, I should go to PSG. I thought about it and I decided to come. It was the football project that provided me with all the answers I needed.

On his journey:

I certainly went through things. I am only happy, a year ago I was unemployed and now I find myself at one of the best clubs in the world. I am savouring this even if the road is still long.

On PSG:

It is true that by coming to Paris, I have the chance to go yet another step up. I am proud to be here. It is up to me to work to raise my game in order to progress. I am lucky to be here at the age of 29.

On being compared to Zlatan: 

I hope to bring what I do the best, to make people feel. People have complimented me in that regard. I will try to do that at the Parc des Princes… With Zlatan we do not have the same qualities. I will try to bring something different.
